Blackboard Events website privacy notice

Version 1.3 | Prepared 5 October 2026

Who we are

Blackboard Events Limited is responsible for how we use personal information through this website and when responding to website enquiries.

  • Company number: 13519896.
  • Registered office: Unit A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, England, IP28 7DE.
  • Privacy contact: [email protected].
  • ICO registration reference: ZB265595.

This notice covers website operation, visitor statistics, contact enquiries and identifiable content published on this website. We use DataSolace Forms, an external service, for online forms. Form-data retention is covered by its Forms privacy addendum. Ticket bookings and newsletter subscriptions also take place through external services.

Contact enquiries

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, message, optional phone number and the page from which you send the enquiry. The form also processes information needed to check for spam and misuse.

We use your details to answer your enquiry and follow up on your request. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we rely on that purpose. For general enquiries and contact with people acting for a business, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding and managing business communications.

The form identifies required fields. Without the details needed to understand your request and reply, we may be unable to help. Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information or details about other people.

Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails. If you ask us to contact you about future trading opportunities, we use your contact details and trading preferences for that purpose with your consent. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing [email protected].

Website hosting, security and email delivery

DataSolace Ltd operates our website and contact service on our behalf, using UK-based application servers. Cloudflare provides website delivery, security, spam protection and contact-form email delivery. Enquiries arrive in our Gmail inbox so we can respond.

Website and security services process information such as your IP address, browser and device details, requested and referring pages, times and security signals. We use this for our legitimate interests in providing a working website, preventing abuse and investigating faults or security incidents.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks for automated misuse. Cloudflare also uses some Turnstile signals for its own bot-detection improvement purposes, explained in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The contact-form service delivers your enquiry to our mailbox without keeping a separate copy. We keep received enquiries for the periods set out below. Google's own processing is described in Google's privacy policy.

Google and Cloudflare may process information outside the UK. Relevant transfers are protected through recognised data-protection arrangements, including Google's participation in the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses covering DataSolace's Cloudflare service. Contact us for details or copies of the relevant safeguards.

Website statistics and your choice

We use website statistics to understand how visitors use the site and improve it. DataSolace operates the analytics service on our behalf. It records selected link clicks and successful contact-form submissions, with context such as the market, workshop or link location. These statistics do not include the contents of your enquiry or confirm completion on external booking, application or newsletter services. It processes page addresses and titles, referring pages, browser, device and language details, approximate location derived from IP addresses, and a periodically changing visit identifier. We use the results as aggregate statistics, not to investigate individual visitor journeys or target advertising.

We rely on our legitimate interests in improving the website. Analytics is enabled by default.

You can turn website statistics off at any time using 'Analytics settings' in the website footer. Turning them off stops further analytics reporting from this browser. Your choice is remembered for this website in this browser until you change it or clear the website's saved browser data.

Turning statistics off does not delete records already collected. Detailed analytics records are kept for no more than 12 months.

Security services may also use browser storage or access information on your device to provide the website and protect forms.

External links and newsletter signup

Our newsletter signup link takes you to an external service. Please read the privacy information on that signup page for details of how your information will be used and how to unsubscribe.

Trader application forms, ticket bookings and social-media links also take you to separate services. Read the privacy information provided where you submit your details.

Photographs and testimonials

We obtain permission before publishing identifiable photographs or named testimonials on this website. Where the content is personal information, we rely on consent for the agreed publication. Refusing permission does not affect a booking or application.

You can withdraw permission by emailing [email protected]. We will stop new use and promptly remove the relevant content from this website. We cannot remove copies other people have made.

How long we keep information

InformationRetention period or criterion
Routine website enquiries that do not become bookings12 months after the enquiry is resolved
Contact details and trading preferences retained at your request for future trading opportunitiesWhile you remain interested, reviewed annually and removed when no longer needed or when you ask us to stop contacting you
Detailed website analyticsNo more than 12 months
Published photographs and testimonialsWhile needed for the agreed use and covered by permission, reviewed annually and removed sooner when consent is withdrawn
Permission and withdrawal recordsThe minimum needed to demonstrate authorised use, respect withdrawals and address relevant complaints or claims
Technical and security recordsAccording to their security or fault-investigation purpose and the relevant provider's retention arrangements

The 12-month period for routine enquiries does not apply to the contact details and trading preferences you ask us to retain for future trading opportunities. It still applies to the original enquiry and attachments once resolved, unless needed for a booking or another reason set out below.

If an enquiry becomes a booking, we retain the information needed to manage that booking and meet applicable accounting or legal requirements. Necessary accounting records are normally kept for six years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to. This does not mean keeping every original enquiry or attachment for that period.

We review routine enquiry records monthly and delete or anonymise them when their retention period ends. We may keep relevant information longer where needed for a legal requirement, investigation or dispute, with review and deletion when that need ends.

Your rights and complaints

You can ask for access to your personal information and correction of inaccurate information. Depending on the circumstances, you can ask us to erase it, restrict its use or provide a portable copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.

You can object, for reasons relating to your situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. We will consider your objection and explain any overriding grounds or legal-claims reason for continuing. You can turn off website statistics directly using Analytics settings.

Email [email protected] to exercise a right or raise a privacy concern. We may need information to confirm your identity and understand your request. We normally respond within one month, subject to applicable legal extensions or pauses, and will explain if one applies.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when our website processing changes and identify the revised version.
